NQ-HELIX 120mm fan shroud for NerdQAxe series
NQ-HELIX 120mm fan shroud for NerdQAxe series
The NQ-HELIX Shroud enables the use of all 120 mm fans with the NERDQaxe+, NERDQaxe++, and compatible models. This replaces the 90mm fan that comes with the stock cooler.
This latest version includes two new high-efficiency “sharper” helix designs in addition to the original four soft helixes—improving airflow and reducing noise. It also proudly features the NerdQaxe logo for that perfect finishing touch.
Optimized for the Thermalright AXP90-X36, X47, and X53 coolers. Includes black spacer washers to ensure optimal contact with the ASIC for better thermal performance.

Excellent fan shroud for the NerdQaxe++ Bitcoin miner dropped quad processor temperature by a couple degrees C when I added a larger size fan.
This is a nice thick material fan shroud. Be sure to screw in the self taping screws provided before installing the fan. It’s easier to mount the fan with a very small Phillips screwdriver if the threads are already cut. I used a Noctua NF-F12 iPPC 3000 PWM, Heavy Duty Cooling Fan which was much heavier and taller than the factory ASIC cooling fan. That made the assembly slightly front heavy. At full fan speed there is noticeable fan noise. I was able to change to variable fan speed to reduce noise and maintain around 50C ASIC temp. Voltage regulators are also running a few degrees cooler due to the shroud duct. I don’t intend to over clock but wanted to extend the life of the chips.
Great upgrade for the NerdQaxe++ solo miner. It uses 3D printed thick material with drilled mounting holes. Be sure to insert the self taping screws provided to cut threads before installing fan. The fan plus shroud makes the miner stand a little front heavy. I used the Noctua NF-F12 iPPC 3000 PWM, Heavy Duty Cooling Fan from Amazon. It is significantly heavier than the stock fan from NerdQaxe.
Im not sure im convinced that 120mm is really an upgrade for my case, if you are like me and you have it in a room where you spend almost all your day in, i feel that it was too loud (120mm has a deeper, more pronounced sound).
Yet on the cooling part it showed better result and fitted well on the radiator, so i guess that's what the product is about.
Works very well.
